     Q.1.    The course of the Losiel’s life changes due to the necklace comment?

Ans: There is no doubt that course of the Losiel’s life change due to the necklace. When she lost the necklace, she took loan from the market to replace the lost necklace. In order to clear the loan she and her husband worked hard, they send away the maid, They changed their lodgings, they rented some rooms an attic. It took ten years to restore all. Mme Losiel seemed old –now and this was all due to the necklace. That she borrowed from her friends.
  
Q2: What was the cause of Matilda’s ruin? How could she have avoided it?

Ans: Matilda was a pretty woman. She always desired to have things of luxuries. She wanted to be loved and admired. It was the real cause of her ruin. She could have avoided it by knowing the fact that one should cut one’s coat according to the cloth. A contented person is the happiest  person on this earth. He/ She does  not grumble over his/ her fate.


Q3: What would have happened to Matilda if she had confessed to her friend that she had lost her necklace?

Ans:  If Matilda had confessed the loss of necklace with her friend, the situation of the story might could have been different . She could  have saved herself from ruin. If she could not have seen the days of misery. 

Q.4. Draw the character sketch of Matilda.

Matilda was a very pretty woman. She was born in a very poor family . She always desired to have things of luxury. She wanted to be loved and admired. She wanted to live in a rich society. But she was married to a middle class man who was working as clerk in board of education. She was not happy with him. She hates to wear simple clothes and simple jewellery. All this troubled her alot. She borrowed a necklace from her rich friend and lost that in a party. She took loan from the market at very high rate of interest  to replace the necklace and had to bear it's cost the entire life. She worked shoulder to shoulder with her husband and was determined to save the family honour.  Her sufferings made her hard but content. She replaced the artificial necklace  with a original one and ruined her life . She should have remember the fact that 'Borrowing is Sorrowing"
